
The next town close to „Casa Miradauna“ is Terracina (population 45.000), reached by car in 15 minutes, where all kinds of shops, markets and supermarkets serve the customers. There are many restaurants of all categories, bars and two cinemas. Dating from pre-roman times, Terracina has Roman ruins in Terracina Alta and high above the town the ruins of a temple to Jupiter with a stunning view.
Boats to the Pontinian islands, were Roman emperors liked to exile their family members, start daily from Terracina harbour. Other points of interest to be reached easily by car are San Felice Circeo, Sabaudia, the medieval Abbey of Fossanova, the world famous gardens of Ninfa, Fondi, Sperlonga and Gaeta, all with their attractions and street markets on designated days. Rome and Naples can be reached in under 2 hours by train and car for convenient day trips or longer excursions.
